Ajaaweed was unplaced in a sprint in his August 2019 debut but improved significantly in his second race when stretching out in distance to one mile. He raced inside and battled some traffic issues but pulled away late to win the maiden special weight race by 4 ¼ lengths Sept. 11 at Belmont Park.
In his stakes debut, Ajaaweed rallied to finish fourth in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity. He then closed willingly to finish second in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes Dec. 7 at Belmont Park.
