Belvoir Bay, an English-bred mare, began racing in her home country in 2015 and won two of five starts before shipping overseas to California. She won the Blue Norther Stakes at Santa Anita Park in her second U.S. start in late 2015, and during 2016 and 2017 won three more stakes, including two Grade 3 events.

In spring 2018, Belvoir Bay continued to excel in turf stakes, winning three in a row at Santa Anita Park: the listed Mizdirection Stakes; the Grade 3 San Simeon Stakes; and the Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes. She closed her 2018 season with a runner-up finish in the Grade 3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes in October at Keeneland.
Belvoir Bay returned to the races on Jan. 12, 2019, for her 6-year-old bow and won the off-the-turf Las Cienegas Stakes at Santa Anita Park by 1 1/4 lengths as the 11-10 favorite. She duplicated that effort on Feb. 16, winning the Wishing Well Stakes at Santa Anita by 4 3/4 lengths at odds of 7-to-10 to set her up for a trip to Dubai.
On the March 30 Dubai World Cup card, Belvoir Bay ran her race but came up just short of winner Blue Point, finishing second in the $2 million Al Quoz Sprint at 1200 meters (about six furlongs) on the grass.
Upon her return, Belvoir Bay ran second in an off-the-turf edition of the Grade 3 Monrovia Stakes before finishing fourth behind World of Trouble in the Grade 1 Jaipur Stakes June 8. Trainer Peter Miller then freshened her for the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and she dazzled on the big stage with a front-running victory, Miller’s third in as many years in the Turf Sprint.
