Sermononthemount broke his maiden in dramatic fashion. Sent off at 11.50-1 in his debut at Delta Downs on Dec. 2, he languished far behind in the early stages of the five-furlong contest. With a bold rush, he surged from the back to win by one length.
After a sixth-place finish in the Sugar Bowl Stakes, Sermononthemount bounced back for a win in a first-level allowance at Delta on Jan. 21.
Sermononthemount was purchased for $3,500 at the Texas Summer Yearling and Horses of All Ages Sale in 2020.
