Venetian Harbor

After finishing second on the turf in her career debut in November 2019 at Del Mar, Venetian Harbor posted a front-running 10 ¾-length victory in a 6 ½-furlong maiden race Dec. 29. She followed with an emphatic runaway victory in the Grade 2 Las Virgenes Stakes Feb. 8 at Santa Anita in her stakes debut.

Venetian Harbor next put her two-race winning streak on the line against a tough group of fillies in the May 1 Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park. She set the pace through the backstretch and into the second turn, but was engaged by stalking Swiss Skydiver in the stretch and tired late to settle for second. The Munnings filly again settled for the runner-up spot in her next start when second to Speech in the Grade 1 Central Bank Ashland Stakes July 11 at Keeneland. Venetian Harbor ran second again, beaten by seven lengths by Gamine, in the Grade 1 Test Stakes Aug. 8 at Saratoga.

Venetian Harbor's string of three-straight seconds came to a halt in the Grade 2 Lexus Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland Oct. 17 when she led from start to finish in a determined victory by a neck over Finite.

In her first start of the year, Venetian Harbor won the Grade 2 Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita Park on June 5, 2021, in an impressive front-running effort. She covered 6 1/2 furlongs on turf in 1:15.06.

Multiple stakes-placed winner Sounds of the City, by Street Cry, is the dam (mother) of Venetian Harbor.
