World Record, a son of top sire Gun Runner, finished third by a neck in his debut sprinting six furlongs at Keeneland on April 26, 2024. The 3-year-old then graduated with aplomb in his next start May 27 at Churchill Downs, drawing clear to a 6 ¼ length victory in a seven-furlong sprint.

Trainer Rodolphe Brisset elevated World Record to stakes company for his third start, and the colt finished third in the seven-furlong Maxfield Stakes June 30 at Churchill Downs. That did not diminish Brisset’s confidence, and he shipped World Record to Saratoga for an even tougher test in the Grade 2, 6 ½-furlong Amsterdam Stakes July 26.
Equipped with blinkers for the first time, World Record broke sharply from the inside post to set a solid pace under Flavien Prat. He kept a comfortable cushion on the front end turning for home and finished strongly to defeat odds-on favorite Jefferson Street by 6 ¾ lengths.
World Record is out of the Exceed and Excel mare Marwa, who raced in England. He is a relative of graded stakes winners Miss Isella, Sir Cherokee, and Intricate, among several other accomplished racehorses.
