Tarnawa came to the U.S. in November 2020 for the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf with a sparkling resume and riding a hot streak. A six-time group stakes winner over the course of her 3- and 4-year-old seasons, she entered the Breeders’ Cup Turf having won three straight, including back-to-back victories in the Group 1 Qatar Prix Vermeille and Group 1 Prix de l’Opera Longines. She did not disappoint at Keeneland.
Tarnawa closed from ninth after a mile, passing eight opponents in the final half-mile, to win the Turf by a length from multiple Group 1 winner Magical.
