Mystic Lake

Mystic Lake got off to a slow start in her career debut Aug. 6, 2023, at Gulfstream Park. She made amends in her second race, leading from start to finish on the all-weather surface at Woodbine Sept. 9 on her way to a 1 ½-length victory. The Mo Town filly was tested next against stakes competition and finished second in the Glorious Song Stakes Oct. 15 and then third stretching out to 1 1/16 miles in the Grade 3 Mazarine Stakes Nov. 4, both after setting the pace on the all-weather surface at Woodbine.

Mystic Lake returned to sprinting for her 3-year-old debut Jan. 13, 2024, at Tampa Bay Downs, where she led from start to finish in a three-quarter-length win in the seven-furlong Gasparilla Stakes.

Subsequently unplaced at one mile in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes at Gulfstream Park, Mystic Lake cut back to three-quarters of a mile for the Stonehedge Farm South Sophomore Fillies Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs in March and dominated by 3 ½ lengths. She followed with a runner-up finish in the Star Shoot Stakes on the all-weather surface at Woodbine in April.

Mystic Lake next delivered a breakout performance on the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes undercard May 17 at Pimlico, leading every step of the way in a runaway 4 1/2-length victory in the $150,000 Grade 3 Miss Preakness Stakes. Mystic Lake next led into deep stretch in the Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes before giving way late in a runner-up finish. She earned a trip to the winner’s circle in her next race with a dazzling 5 ¾-length romp in the $750,000 Charles Town Oaks Aug. 23.

Mystic Lake was at her best at the Gulfstream Park winter meet to end 2024 and begin 2025. She won the $133,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes going six furlongs on Dec. 21 to cap-off her 2024 season and then scored a repeat win in her first start as a 5-year-old with a victory atop a field of five fillies and mares in the Grade 2 $215,000 Inside Information Stakes going seven furlongs on Jan. 25, 2025.
