That talented, versatile runner took Thomas to the pinnacle of the sport during summer 2018 after being taken off of the Triple Crown trail. Catholic Boy won both the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational on turf in July and then the Grade 1 Runhappy Travers Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets in late August on dirt to become a viable Breeders’ Cup contender on two surfaces.
Thomas is a Virginia native and a former jockey.
