A 1 ½ mile stakes race run on Gulfstream Park’s turf course, the Pan American Stakes is for horses 4 years of age and older. The race has been run at 1 ½ miles every year since 1976 except for 2009 when it was run at 1 ¼ miles. Trainer Bill Mott has won the race six times, including twice with Fraise and Newsdad. Other winners of the race include Awad, two-time winner Quest Star, two-time winner Buck’s Boy and Phantom Breeze.
