History

Named after Hall of Fame horse Carry Back, the Carry Back Stakes has been run since 1975 and is open to 3-year-olds going seven furlongs on the dirt at Gulfstream Park. Eibar Coa has the most wins in this race of any jockeys with three consecutive victories in 1997 to 1999 with two trainers sharing the trainers’ lead with three wins as well. Equine winners include Smile and Lost in the Fog.
