Run since 1960, the Bay Shore Stakes started out as a mile race but has been run at six or seven furlongs since 1964. For 3-year-olds, the race is contested at Aqueduct every April, currently has a purse of $300,000 and is run at seven furlongs. Winners of the Bay Shore include Damascus, Hoist the Flag, Secretariat, Bold Forbes, Strike Gold, Gulch, Lost in the Fog and Trinniberg.
