Run every spring at Santa Anita, the Santa Ana Stakes is a turf race run at 1 1/8 miles for fillies and mares four years of age and older. The race was dominated by Bobby Frank in the 1990s and early 2000s with the trainer winning eight editions of the race between 1992 and 2008, the most of any trainer in the race’s history. Won by Waya in 1979, the winners’ list also includes The Very One, Track Robbery, Estrapade, Reloy, Exchange, Wandesta, Fiji and Golden Apples.
